The movie "Do the Right Thing" is doing well thus far in portraying the characters in different lights. No two characters are the same, nor are they written the same. When I read the script, however, I pictured Mookie to look a bit differently than the way he is seen in the movie. I pictured a larger man: taller, heavier, and stockier than the Mookie we are given. However, I dont think that affects his role in the film very much.
Right now, we can physically see the strained relationships between the different characters in the film. Those relationships include the ones between Pino and Vino, Vino and Mookie, Sal and Radio Raheem, and Mother Sister and Da Mayor. These relationships give the movie character, as a plot without conflict is uninteresting and boring.
As of right now, we know that the relationship between Sal and Radio Raheem is going to turn some heads and spark the climax of the movie with the police death of Radio Raheem. He has come into Sal’s Pizzaria blasting his music once so far, and he was spoken to in a civil, but agressive manner to turn it off. He had his final warning, and we will see what happens once that warning runs out.
Alex, I cannot read this as the margins appear to cut off ideas.
